Grass, rules, and a coordinator

Don't you hate it when you organize all you stuff and then you can't find anything? My dad has been trying to implement a rule in our house for years. As more of my siblings are moving out, he hasn't been as strict. This rule is to make all the "children" take their belongings out of the bathroom when they leave. meaning take out your razor and shampoo after a shower and take out all curling irons and makeup when you are finished. This being a retarded rule in my eyes is somewhat understandable to others. At the time we had 7 people sharing one bathroom. Now if we all had our own toiletries x7 that would cause a bit of clutter. Seeing how their are only 5 of us now I think the rule should be abolished. It hasn't. So I started organizing my things to not cause any problems. How many times (girls) have you gone in the bathroom and desperately needed a bobby pin or an elastic and all your stuff is put away so you have to trek to another room. Thus wasting time and motor skills. Sometimes life is just annoying and their is nothing you can do about it. Unless you move out and make your own rules. but even then you live with other people and have to establish some order and some rules. Life is a never ending rule. Stupid rule

Funny how my next experience also relates to this rule of taking everything out of the bathroom. I am slightly obsessed with my teeth. The whiteness, cleanliness and straghtness are all very important to me. Thankfully I was blessed with 95% straight teeth and am satisfied to not get braces. Thankfully whiteness and cleanliness are both something I can control. So I use a whitening toothpaste daily and whitening strips evry 8 months or so.

The other noght I was getting ready for bed and realized I left the bag of my toiletries so neatly organized in my room. I was in a lazy mood and decided to use the boring toothpaste that is always left in the bathroom for public use. I had two options. A baking soda flavored toothpaste (gross)-my parents do the whole "all natural" approach- or mint green tea extract. Of course I chose the latter. It was a pretty teal/clearish color with the scent of mont. How bad could it be? well, people of the blog world, it was B.A.D. The best way to describe it was a combination of grass and bertie botts every flavor bean (Harry Potter) with the flavor of vomit. It'a amazing how it smelled minty yet had no taste of mint whatsoever in that toothpaste. Nasty Nasty Nasty. I just kept telling myself I was preventing cavities and bore with it the two minutes until the electric toothbrush beeped. What's even worse, is that flavor stayed with me after 5, count em' 5 rinsings of my mouth with water. I went to bed still with the flavor of freshly chewed grass and the distugsting vomit taste every time I would breath out. And I was wondering why the tube was still completely full after sitting in the bathroom for two weeks.

I called at my old job on friday. Lucky me, the man in charge was at a golf tournament and wouldn't be back until Monday. I swear every possible thing has "come up" to prevent me to going back to this place for a job. Maybe I'm not supposed to back? This could be a sign perhaps? I want to though. this was the best job I've ever had with good pay for my lack of business skills. This new position is a dollar pay cut, bu I can easily switch to a higher position once I get my foot back in the door. Speaking of higher position, I found out they are hirering for two project coordinators. Meaning I would probably get paid 3-4 bucks more per hour and I would have less "secretarial" work and be more focused on the actual Jobs of the company. I am quite scared to apply for these and don't even know if I'd be qualified. I was only their for 9 months and don't know if I could handle it. I want to and it would be quite the challenge. I just rambling thoughts trying to make a decision on this. If you are bored you may sign off now. Anyway, Just not sure what to do, if I'll get the job, frustrated with my sleeping habits (or lack thereof) constant migraines the past week, exercising but not seeing results except pain, and in a pickle to putit mildy. I think I'll go have a decision making hour and think about everything.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday of freddom before the mondane monday creeps up on us all.

State fair Goings on

Last Thursday Rachel and I went to the State Fair together. we got an amazing parking spot about 1 minute from the grounds, and we happened to go the same day Shedaisy was performing a free concert. turns out we had to have tickets to get in and they were all out. We decided to stick around and try and hear them from outside, and right when we walked up some random girl came up to us and gave us two tickets. Perfect timing!! The concert was great though we didn't stay the whole time. Rachel didn't know they were country singers so we left after a couple songs. I was fine with that because I still wanted to make it to volleyball that night. I was right on time and played SO good. Very good night.

This Goat kept following Rachel and chewing in her pants. Vey affectionate for a goat!
These two were NOT camera shy. They loved attention
This wreath is made out of peach pits! So creative!!
I think this was made out of ceramic. Not sure, but Rachel loved it. She is always making things egg shaped so she went nuts when she saw this.

This picture was so vibrant and colorful I had to take a picture. I love it!

This flower was HUGE!! about 5-6" diameter. I need to find out what kind it is so I can grow it.
The traditional Butter cow. Did you know they freeze and re-use the same butter every year?
Inside the convention center they had the photography and comercial displays. I thought these were amazing and when we got up close you can see they are made out of plastic/glass tubes! Tubular.ha ha..
This little bunny had his back legs crossed. So cute. Like he was posing for us.

Happy hungry little fella

Gifts from Mum & Dad's Vacation and.......

.......an announcement, but I'll get to that in a minute. My parents extended their trip by one day and just got home around 8pm today. Along with smelling like the outdoors, a bit sunburned and a little more grey hair, they brought GIFTS!!! Yay!

My mom has always loved copper and got me this cool ring from a giftshop in Washington. I heart rings.

Moving clockwise starting from the top left: Painted wood box for my room, Four antique egg cups (I collect antique's), Glass star fish(I coleect blown glass and glass stuff), The little lady bug thing is a business card holder(for when i get a job) and kukua nut choker. I've always wanted one of these to hang in my car.(when I get one) And in the card holder is a music note pin. can never have enough music stuff I always say.
Underneath all this stuff is an apron with lavendar flowers embroidered on it. I am always cooking and my current apron is a little warn out. I love it. The two flower packages are wildflower seeds from Oregon. I am a flower planter heart and soul. You'll see these growing in my yard next summer. The little orange flower is a dried, pressed flower magnet. Coolness. The long green thing is a leather bookmark from Butchart Garden's that my parents saw. I am always reading a million books at once and usually end up using post it notes to save my place. Never enough bookmarks in my room. The little bear figuring is.....a bear figurine. ok, so it has an "R" on it. I have a collection of "R"s in my room and I now have a bear R!! last is the yellow lollipop looking thing. It's actually a honey lemon bear. either for candy itself or for mixing in your tea. You can guess which one I'll be using it for.
And now for the announcement!

MICHELLE IS PREGNANT!!!!!!
She and Lema came over tonight to see my parents coming home, but during dinner Michelle said, "I have an announcement everyone. We are expecting!" She brought the paper from the clinic confirming her due date and everything. She is 6 weeks along and due sometime early in May 08'. They don't know the sex yet, but I'm hoping for a girl (of course).Oh, Toni, if you're reading this at work, don't tell anyone, she hasn't told anyone there yet. I think she may tomorrow though. thanks. Then Michelle called my grandma. You could hear her screaming thorugh the phone, she was so excited!! This will be her first great-grand child and my parents will finally be grandparents!!!! Seems only fitting someone in my family has the first great grandbaby as my dad is the oldest child. Yehaw!!!! I found this little onesey online. I am SO getting it.

Jury Duty? Crap.

Last week I recieved a summons for jury duty. How convenient. The hilarious thing is that my brother is on call for the next four months for federeal jury duty and my dad just had jury duty two months ago. I swear the government is out to get the Hodgson clan.
I always thought it would be cool to be on the jury of a murderer or something cool like that. But mine is probably for some moron who has a bunch of DUI's. This sucks. I have to wait another week until I can attempt to get a job. Who would hire me if they knew I would be gone the first week and they would have to pay me for it? Nadda.

Yesterday Randy was going to take a bunch of clothes to the D.I. for Charity(his GF), and we decided to have some fun with the clothes and torture our dogs at the same time.

I love my dogg I have to say, they look smashing in their new outfits.Toby is very photogenic
I asked him where ace was right before I took this picture. He answered by turning his head in thought.

Ah, I'm starting another weekly feature in addition to the flashback weekend.
"Rebecca's Recipes" I will post the recipe andpictures of outcome, plus a taste test scale from 1-10. Then you can all try my favorite treats.

Today I decided to make a casserole for dinner as they are quick to make and usually fill you up. This one is Seafood casserole, one of my mom's classic recipes.

3 Cups Cooked Macaroni (or any pasta you want, really)

1 Can Cream of Chicken Soup

1/3 Cup Milk

1/4 cup Miracle Whip

1/2 tsp. Dry Mustard (may substitute 1 Tbsp of regular mustard)

1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

1 Can Tuna drained

1/4 Cup Sliced green olives (only if you like them. some people detest olives)

Topping: 1/4 Cup Bread Crumbs -or- Crushed potatoe chips(these taste better)

1 Tbsp. Melted Margerine/Butter

Paprika

Mix all ingredients except topping. Spread in medium sized casserole dish. Sprinkle Bread crumbs over top, drizzle margerine over breadcrumbs. Sprinkle with Paprika. Bake uncovered 350 degrees 50 minutes. Serves 4-5.

*I doubled this recipe and it fed 6 hungry people with 2 servings left over. Great for freezing.*

My whole family loves this dish. I give it 9/10. Very cheesy, filling and fast to make. Enjoy!
