The countdown begins!

Only four more weeks until I am an aunt!!! Can you tell I'm keeping track? I'm so excited for Monday for the Westech baby shower. I have my gift all ready and it's cute!! It's one of those diaper cakes with part of it a pregnancy t-shirt that says, "Desperate to Deliver!" I hope it fits her belly though. She's quite large these days. My Grandma and Aunt are throwing a family shower for her as well. I'm so relieved that I don't have to do anything! Well, the dessert and the invitations, but those shouldn't be too hard. I already have the invitations done and we're sending them off Monday. Here is what they look like-

It would have been quite easy because I already had the backround design, except my mom and Michelle wanted it blue because she's having a boy. So I tediously enlarged it and did dot by dot in paint. It took forever. But it looks good I guess.

Tomorrow I have two choir performances in Taylorsville. Both at Sacrament meetings. Should be fun. Speaking of performances, If any of you guys are bored out of your minds on the days of my performances, you should come. Orchestra Perf is April 16, 7pm @ Taylorsville High on redwood road. My final choir fireside is April 20, 7pm @ SLCC Institute building. The Choir one usually has cake or doughnuts after. So there's an incentive, other than my singing, to come.

I'm a member of some violist group on facebook. Today I was browsing through some pictures and got a crack out of these. This one is SO true in so many ways

If I were to ever get a tattoo(which would never happen) I'd get this one. Minus the stupid treble clef. Is this one on their leg? I can't tell wich body part this is. Quite the dedicated musician I'd say.

We didn't have a chance to have our New England boiled dinner last week for St. Patricks day, so we bumped it up to today! Also the tradition egg decorating. Even though we never really eat boiled eggs, we still dye eggs. They're cheap right? And my dad usually has egg salad sandwiches for work the next day. Not too many go to waste.

I came home last night from Toni & Ben's house to find a surprise on my pillow. I had asked my mom earlier to get some fabulous lotion tissues so my nose won't be red and raw for church. I had just finished up my third box of tissues and was about to resort to TP.(Did I mention the sore throat thing from this week turned into a sinus infection-thingy?) But she surprised me with this new amazing Puffs + Lotion + Vicks tissues. Incredible stuff! (no product placement here!) It's like inhaling the vicks scent when you blow your nose, and leaves a medicated/tingly/feel-good feeling in your nose, sinuses & lungs. It says "non-medicated" on the package, but I love them anyway. If you get sick, buy these! your nose will thank you.Thought I would mention that we all need to remember(even though you'll here it in church today) the real meaning if Easter besides chocolate candy, peep marshmallows and dyed eggs. How the resurrection of Christ is what we celebrate. Because He died for us and lived again, we can too. But more importantly the Atonement that took place before hand that was a selfless act on every single person's behalf that we can all be forgiven of our many sins. That he went through every sorrow, bad day, hurt knee, stubbed toe, depression, heartache, troubled time that we did, and knows EXACTLY how we feel. He is one that can give comfort and help us through anything. Through him ALL mankind may be saved.

Me and my friend Gravity

You know what one thing I am truly consistant in doing? Dropping my deodorant at the perfect angle so that it shatters into a million peices. At least once a week I drop it, and once a month it shatters. I should start buying the travel ones so I don't waste so much when it shatters. You wouldn't think that deodorant could shatter, but yes, it does. Even with the lid on.

Weirdest thing happened yesterday. I woke up with a sore throat from Strep Hell. All day I couldn't swallow, tired and sore all over, practically drinking Chloraseptic throat spray and lots of hot chocolate. Cursing the world because I thought I would be without a voice for choir and the inability to swallow for the next week or so. I woke up this morning and it was almost completely gone. A little bit of nasal drainage(Oh sorry, were you eating?) but that's it. Voice back, swallowing fine. Is it possible to get strep for one day?

I worked all day in the garden today. I even got big bubbly blister(still eating?) from tilling. Planted lots more cosmos and bulbs. I'm seriously thing about changing my favorite flower to cosmos. I feel like I'm abandoning the lonely sunflower though. We've been such good friends these past 21 years. maybe I'll say they are both my favorite. I'll let you know.

Last night I watched The Bourne Ultimatum. It starts off exactly where it left off from the last one. I love the Bourne shows. So intense and great acting. Amazing photography as well. Aren't they making a fourth one? They better with the ending they left at.

Toni, I will definately come to the baby shower at work! That's so nice of you guys to that for Michelle!! Do I need to bring anything? Food or dessert or something? Maybe I'll go suck up to all the Group Leaders to get a job while I'm there. Who knows. It will be nice to see everyone again. that's the only place I've ever worked that I actually miss the people and the job.

Oh wow, I just saw pictures of Karli's Baby. SO CUTE!!! lots of dark hair and a big baby! I still can't get over that people my age are having kids. Or married even. It just doesn't feel real. I guess it won't really sink in until I get married. Perhaps. maybe I'm just a kid at heart an will be forever. I still feel like the shy girl in Mr. G's 6th grade class at Copper Hills playing with my nano baby, staring at Dustin Jackson when I should have been working. Our souls are the same I think. The body changes as we grow, but our real selves gain experience while staying the same.

Off to whiten my teeth, shower, pamper, and other girly things. I enjoy the garden, just not the dirt that comes with it. Especially whe that dirt is the same dirt my dogs poop in.

Shhh, don't tell

My Grandma and aunt are planning a baby shower in April for my sister Michelle. My mom asked me to make a slide show of Michelle's wedding and reception because a bunch of Michelle's friends who missed the reception will be there. Here's a bit of what I've been working on. Playing around with this software makes me want to be a wedding photographer. So fun! But don't tell Michelle, it's a surprise and all.

So today was stake conference. Good except the lady behind us would not shut her yapper. Then when we sand the song, she sang the soprano part- an octave down. I HATE it when people do that. If you can't sing the soprano part because it's too high, LEARN HOW TO READ MUSIC AND SING ALTO!! Singing an octave lower makes you sound like a man and a fool.

Sheesh. Rant of the week there.

I planted some Cosmos (colored daisy-like flowers for you non gardening people) in a pot in our kitchen four days ago. I wasn't thinking when I put the pot on a shelf in our kitchen. This shelf is directly over the heat vent. So BANG!! I have plants growing within four days of planting the seed. This is super fast and they will outgrow the pot before they'll be able to stand outdoor temps. Use brain next time Bec....thanks.

Poo, can think of nothing to write tonight. Going to bed now. Or maybe watch a movie. Haven't seen Bourne Ultimatum yet. Not the mist sunday worthy activity. But then again, it's 12:30 so technically Monday now. Happy St. Patty's day! Don't forget to wear green!

Can you tell I've been playing with my photo software? these are my two violas and Rachels. hers is the really dark one. can you tell who is the worst at cleaning off rosin? Yes, that'd be mine on the far right. Sad really.

Sorry to do this to everyone, but I'm sick of my family reading my blog. Mainly my brother and sister who critisize me afterwards. I feel like this is private place where I can write to friends who don't judge and I can rant about my life. So, I'm setting this blog to private and you have to log in. If you check the "remember me" box when you log in, it redirects you to the blog without having to type anything in after the first time. Toni & Joe are already on here. Tony and Michelle still need to accept my email to read.

If there are any lurkers (I highly doubt it) who would still like to read my blog, shoot me an email and I'll add you. (beckydoodledoo at hotmail dot com) I am fine with strangers reading about my life, just not my family.

I will leave the blog public for about a week and then switch over to being private. Thanks!

Actually, I'll be up for a while, might as well update while I'm at it.

All week I've been working in the garden, weeding and planting bulbs like mad. I even have the beginning of a tan!! (like I ever need one really) Today I woke up to the rumblings of a windy hail storm attacking my newly planted seeds. Plus all my tools were out getting ready to rust to death. So I throw on a coat and rain boots, book it out back and rush around the yard putting everything in the shed to save it from getting wet. Covered up all the buckets of weeds so they wouldn't fill with water, put a tarp on all my baby plants, all while getting covered in mud and soaked by the rain. Finally everything was away, and I ran to the house. Surprise surprise, it completely stops raining the second I close the door. Not only did it stop, but the clouds dissapeared and the sun came out full force. I decided to take a day off of gardening anyway and cook. Stupid rain. or lack of anyway.

I made cheesy biscuits with butter and white peppered gravy. Yummers. My mom and I also planned our St. Patrick's day family dinner. It's tradition to have a New England boiled dinner. My mom splurges and gets the best cut of roast beef usually costing about $25 for a single rump. Insanely high price, but SO good. Plus this year will be Lema's first St Patrick's day celebration. And, my mom (yes, she spoils me she does) found a shamrock cookie cutter for me to add to my collection, so I'll be making my ever popular holiday themed sugar cookies. I can't believe March is almost half over!

Ace has the most peculiar way of sleeping. Any time past 10pm you can find him on my bed, on my pillows, on his back, and drooling. Usually with his tongue hanging out. Some days I swear he's dead and I have to check for a pulse. He doesn't move when he sleeps. Not even when he breathes. Nothing. Zombie corpse dog. In fact, I'll take a picture and stick it on here just to give you an idea.

Hilarious because he's even sticking his tongue out tonight.
You must admit though, it's cool he matches my bedding. How many people can say that about their dog?
And yes, the clock on my night stand is correct, I'm blogging at 2am. Seems to be the best time for my blogging. It works for me.

Oh, I took this other picture today too. Ace realized he could see Bruno our neighbor's dog from
my window. So he decided to get a closer look by jumping 3 1/2 ft into my windowsill. I have weird dog eh?
.
Well, getting tired now. Anyone else way excited Michelle is moving back to the land of cool people? I'm stoked.

Night!

The inner workings...

You know when you go through a box of old things and find stuff you forgot completely about? I did that yesterday. I found a CD that said Rebecca Hodgson 9/25/06. I popped it into my computer and this is what came up-

It's my BRAIN!!!! I had a CT scan done in 2006 to see if the docs could figure out my migraines. This is one of four images. Apparently my nose bone is crooked :) Everything turned out normal in case your wondering. No brain tumor or anything drastic going on. Kind of weird seeing youe insides though.

Saturday I was cleaning my room and for the life of me couldn't find my cell phone. Being the genius that I am I didn't even think to call it. Anyway, I almost emptied my garbage can, but something came up and I stopped cleaning. Later saturday I hear a vibrating noise, search it out, and lo and beholed, my cell phone was in the bottom of the can I almost empried that day. Thank you Emily (who I haven't heard from for months) for calling my phone! I also found some of my makeup that I accused Rachel of stealing earlier that day. I have no clue how either of these items ended up in my can.

Today was a fun day. I am now feeling the pain of it( back is killing me), but it was still good. I finally got the garden started! I seem like an old fogey for my choice of hobby, But I love gardening! I got almost all the weeds pulled out, peas and beans planted and a couple dahlias. After seeing dahlias at the state fair last year I just had to get some to plant. My mom beat me to it and got me a box of 12 from Sam's club. I can't wait!!! The bulbs themselves look like obese mini octopuses, but the end product is so gorgeous!!

Trash, I have choir in the morning. Must go to bed now.

Rule number 1

Blogger should have a rule that once you come online, you have to post s blog or your blog will be deleted. Seriously. Joe obviously the worst offender, then Tony, Shell, and occasionally Toni. though Toni posts a lot on myspace, so I forgive her. But the rest of you? POST!!!!

SO I bought some white shoes for the temple. All the customer ratings said order the exact shoe size you normally wear. So I did. They arrive and guess what? Like 2 sizes too small. I send it back for an exchange and just to be safe I order 1 1/2 sizes up so they'll be roomy. I got the replacements yesterday and how much bigger are they? about .3 of a size larger, yet the number is 1 1/2 up like I ordered. RETARDED. The really dumb thing is they charge a $5 exchange fee. Forget it. I'm sending them back for a refund. And writing a bad review for them. That's just rediculous. Big feet suck.

Orchestra again tonight. Hopefully we'll get our new music. I love the old stuff, but it's kind of memorized. Last week was the concert, but we were locked out of the building(did I already talk about this?) and it was cancelled. I find out tonight if it's going to be rescheduled. I'm so excited for the fall because I get my stand partner back! Hurry up and move Michelle!

I missed choir this morning. Forgot to set my alarm. Crapiness because I was on a role of perfect attendance.

Well, I'm off to sell shtuff on ebay. Tootles!
