Wishlist #2

Today I was going to post what I'm making everyone for Christmas, but then realized that all but 1 person in my family reads my blog. Which would kind of ruin the surpirse. so I'll show you AFTER Christmas. Instead, you get a list!

I'm a list person. I have lists all over my walls, in notebooks strewn across my room, and lists saved on my computer. I thought I'd compile a few into my second wishlist for this blog. If you missed the first one, go check it it out Here
And if you happen to be rolling in the bucks, feel free to get me anything you think I might enjoy. :)

And so begins the list:

French Style Rolling Pin

I've ALWAYS wanted one of these. I even bought one once, but it came from the east coast, and when it got here to dry ol' Utah, it warped and was unusable. Stupid Climate change....

Exotic Cutting Boards

I love cutting boards for some reason. But they MUST must must be square! The bigger the better too. Wood is so luxurious, plastic just seems so boring.

Forget Me Not Ring

I found this ring years ago and absolutely love it. So sentimental, right? I wish I had one to give to all my friends who have moved away, like a friendship bracelet, but for older/cooler people. I want one myself but am too cheap to cough up the *ahem* $48 for it. I think the most I've ever paid for a ring was 12 bucks thank you.

"Milky Bells" Earrings

Flowers & earrings. AT THE SAME TIME. Need I say more?

Stage & Screen Hairstyles

You know me and hairstyles. Always trying out new ones on Rachel and wanting to break the rules of hair. I think this would aid me in my quest to world hair domination, don't you?

Ice Cream Scoop of Glory

I just think this is the coolest Kitchen gadget ever. I hate scooping out ice cream with mediocre scoops. I think I would actually eat ice cream more than two times a year if I had one of these suckers.

Nike Workout Clothes

I love me some Nike. Super amazing quality, perfect fit for females, and the wicking fabric is to die for when working out. I'd kill for the white volleyball jersey top. Love love love.

Legacy CTR Ring

I have this "thing" with CTR rings. kind of an obsession with them. I think now own...5? But in the past I wasn't thinking and bought them all in the same size so I can only wear them on the same finger one at a time. genius.

Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena

Have you smelled this piece of heaven? Bath and Body works never fails me. First they came out with Sweet Pea (my absolute favorite) and now this. I'll take one of everything in this scent, thank you.

Krumkake Baker

This friends, is a krumkake baker. A scandanavian cookie/crepe type of thing that is DIVINE. Rachel and I have come up with a recipe that is 99% close to the original thing. Now, to have the real baker to make them instead of trying to work with a cookie sheet (which brings on thoughts of murder) THAT would be awesome. I'd make one for each person in Magna. They are SO good.

Embroidered Handkerchief

Again, another thing I'm a sucker for. Handkerchiefs that are emroidered with my initials. They scream feminine and girly. And done in pink? Yes please.

iTeeze

Yes, I tease my hair for volume. So sue me. This thing would save me a lot of time. If it works, that is. We'll see.

Secret Book

You know you want one of these.

Striaght Razor

No, I don't want one of these because I secretly shave off my beard every morning. I cut my own hair, as well as Rachel's & Michelle's occasionally. I love the blunt cut look and layers and layers and layers. This would speed things up by, oh, a million?

I ate it, yes I did.

I finally crossed off another item from my wish list. This thing is going to take a while.

Today we went to Buffet City for my brother Michael's 28th birthday. I have wanted to try sushi forever. I've heard from some it's nasty, others say it's amazingly delicious. I wanted to test the theory myself, but wanted it to be authentic so my judgment would be fair. I had A california roll with a bit of wasabi and teriyaki dipping sauce. (sorry about the quality, camera phone you know)

The verdict:

It seemed to be overly fishy tasting, a chewy raw texture, and a bit annoying because of the little fish bones to pull out of my teeth. I like my meat/fish cooked and hot, and this was the opposite. I don't think I'll be having the stuff ever again. But I can add a check mark to my list now. Only 7 or so more things to do.

Now, to the grand finale of our meal, I introduce you to another fishy specimen up for ridicule: The lonely Octopus

Yes, this was on the menu. About a quater size octopus in some kind of marinade.

And guess what I did? Yes my friends, I ATE this! After the sushi I was feeling a little gutsy, we had a camera, so why not? I grossed out every member of my family but my brother in law Lema who had one himself. I almost gagged, but I chewed it, tasted it, and swollowed it. 6 people can attest that I ate an octopus. Extremely rubbery, with a slight taste of sardines.

It's just the fact that you know you're eating something creepy looking which makes it hard to swallow. Can you believe it? Kind of an adrenaline rush you might say.

Fun times.

Wish List

LASIK SURGERY

I had a cosult with an eye doc in Utah who does lasik. My corneas are too thin right now and the amount of astigmatism worries them. They said I would have to wait another two years and get another check up before I could be considered a good candidate. One of these days I hope technology advances enough to get my terrible vision fixed.

PROFESSIONAL MANICURE/PEDICURE

Too cheap to ever get one in the past and the hassle of getting them filled, maintanence, plus I can't play my viola with them. Some day..

XXXXXX DODGE CALIBER XXXXXXX

(I no longer want this car. I'm sticking with good old VW Passat now)Can't decide if I want black or white yet.

XXXX SUSHI (DONE 8/21/2008)

I want to try sushi. I used to think it would be incredibly nasty. I will follow my new motto though. Try everything once(except drugs, alchohol, tattoo's, you get the point)

Buffet City, 8/21/08 Real Sushi California Roll. Kind of gross actually. Especially when I pulle d out a little fish bone. But I did it!

THE SWORD OF TRUTH (Series)
Terry Goodkind's book series. SO GOOD. I think their are about 9 books now, the last one coming out in November 2007. I love these books. It's like the grown up Harry Potter. You have to read it!

1HR FULL BODY MASSAGE

I've always wanted one, but a little reserved about the whole dis-robing and let a complete stranger rub my body. But I'm over it now. I love getting shoulder massages and head massages. It's pure bliss. A full body massage? Aaaahhhhhh.

HORSEBACK RIDING

Never been, love horses.

GO FROM BRUNETTE TO BLONDE

I've never dyed my hair before (yes, sad but true). And it won't be a out of the box do at home job either. We're talking professional salon, not trashy blonde. Hey, If Kelly Clarkson can, why can't I?

XXXXX PALM TREO 680 XXXXXX

(Don't want this phone anymore. Maybe an iphone? Not sure)

How could you not want this phone? It's a blackberry, it's red, it has a camera, it has email, and I can surf the web. I hate flip phones with a passion, so this works perfect.

THE ILLUSIONIST

I thought this show was amazing. I've got a thing for "magic" stories and this one hit the spot.

XXXXX PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (Done May 2008)

As most of you know, my favorite movie of all time that I've watched a gazillion times is Pride and Prejudice. Sadly enough, I have never read the book. Books are always a million times better than the movie counterpart, so I think I have been missing out on this one.

Bought the complete Jane Austen Series in one giant leather-ish looking book. Done!
WEDDING RING

Once I meet "The One" This is the ring I want. I saw it in a magazine once (about 7 years ago) and have loved it ever since. And if I'm not married by the time I'm 30, I''ll just go out an buy it myself.

ART PEICE OF DALE CHIHULY

This guy is AMAZING. I almost passed out when I heard the news he would be doing an exhibition for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. I just want a little peice of his work. that's all. Yet I don't have a spare $5,000 to cough up for one. Love it love it love it. Also to really push my lick, go to Washington and see his shop!
