Late nights with a camera, a viola left out after practice, and nothing else to do.

Well, It's done. Michelle has gone off with the married crowd. I am down another single friend.

Moving on. can't dwell on that sad fact.

I put my itunes on party shuffle as I was browsing my daily blog/websites, when suddenly, I hear the hunky man voice of Perry Como crooning me to "I'll be Home for Christmas". BAM!!!!! Wow, Christmas! It doesn't help any that it's snowing this very moment. Or walmart for that matter. I always start thinking about it too soon and get in holiday season mode. Halloween, Thanksgiving, then christmas. Keep it in order people! Although I do know what I'm getting most of my friends this year. It's cute too!

Now Carrie Underwood is on. Jeez. I get so distracted by music I can't think. I analyze it and sing along with the harmonies. Distracted.....

This morning my alarm didn't go off(or did I forget to set it? I can't remember. So at 6 Rachel came down to my room to tell me she was ready. I jump out of bed, start getting ready to book it to choir. Rachel went to clean off the car (stupid snow), then I had to move my dad's car(he parked behind me, KNOWING I leave before him in the mornings), Had to find shoes instead of flip flops (stupid snow) and seeing how I can't remember the last time I wore socks, had to scrounge up some of those. Rachel and I get in the van, she can't find her music folder. Back in the house to look for her folder. She never found it, and the by the time we would have left, driven slowly because of the snow, we would only be at choir for 15min before it ended. Not worth the gas I think, so we bagged it and stayed home. rachel went back to bed while I looked for jobs online. Fun stressful mornin' I tell ya what.

Speaking of hunky man voice, I found this interview of MIchael buble on a british talk show. I loved this little segment at the end and edited it up for all to see. I love this man. Later.

Quick or slow? you choose.

This week (so far) has been eventful. The first couple days after a long vacation, you collapse in bed, and get up for meals once in a while. I called a bunch of people about jobs, started orchestra at SLCC, Choir in the mornings(with Rachel in it too!), proabably institute soon, Saw Jocelyn(yay!), realized my room was a mess beyond measure, and noticed I ate out too much on vacation. Time to start running again :( .

This week I get to meet with the man who ultimately decides if I can go back on a mission. Did I mention I was planning on going back? Well there you have it. I have to wait until my "Sessions" are over, so about 2 months until I'll know for sure. I've been keeping up on my spanish study lately and trying to cram in scripture study. I'm just worried it's been so long I may have to get a completely new call and maybe even a new language. It will all turn out how it's supposed to though. If I go, I go, if not, I'll move on this time.

So today I finally got see Jocelyn! She came home on the 11th when I was on vacation. She kind of talks like a Samoan, has hair past her shoulders now, she's gorgeously skinny, and has dark brown hair. We got to sit down and talk for about two hours about her mission, my mission, dating etc. Her homecoming talk is this sunday at her ward at 1pm if anyone is interested in seeing her again. I'm all flushed because I thought I would have to find a substitute for my primary class until next week, but it's this sunday. As Shell would say, SCRAP!

Tomorrow my dad is bringing home an external hard drive so I can transfer my vacation pictures from his laptop to my computer. Lots and lots of pictures. I'm excited to show you all where we went and what we saw.

I went to Walmart with my my brother Michael today. We thought Ace was mature enough to be out of the kennel when we go out, but alas, he proves us wrong every time. We came home to a living room full of garbage neatly spaced across the floor. I think he ate half a bag of chocolate chip cookies. Hopefully the chocolate won't kill him. Ace insists on not only eating garbage, but new unopened foods left within range of his paws on the counter. Whole loaves of bread, bags of chips, full casseroles, you name it, he'll eat it.

Did you feel that?

Around 12am tonight/last night I was watching a movie on my computer, (thank you world of bit torrents) when I heard a loud rumbling, and then the ground started to shake mildly. Which doesn't happen much, so even when it's mild it's out of the ordinary. This was the second earthquake I've ever experienced. Kind of fun. I was one of the kids who saw a movie like "Twister" and wanted to be a storm chaser and live through natural disasters. Let's just say I have a thing for danger. The only reason I would ever want to Hawaii is to see up close the volcanoes they are famous for. So yeah, Magna and another earthquake. Cool.

All this weekend my sister RAchel and I have been attending the YSA summit at the U of U. Tonight was the last part, ending with Steve Young speaking at a devotional at the Tabernacle. Rachel and I were in the choir and performed three songs for the meeting. The songs sounded good (in my harsh musical opinion) and it was fun singing again after my vocal chords had been dormant for so long. Singing once a week in church and primary just doesn't cut for me. I need to be in some on going choir. College maybe, I've already done that kind. I'm in the market for a new choir.

Now, most of you know, I'm tall for a girl but still love my heels. Three inch heels to be exact. I knew tonight I would be standing quite a bit as well as walking from parking to the tabernacle. I was smart and wore flats. I ended up with three raw/blister spots as a result of my cnonservativism (Is that a word?). I just can't win. I think I'll have to resort to going barefoot from now on. How difficult can it really be to design a cute, heeled, comfortable shoe? Or even a flat comfortable shoe for that matter? We're nearing the terabyte norm in computer storage availability, cars that run on electricity, and an instant gratification world, yet we can't design something right that has been around for thousands of years.

I had a nap and can't sleep. But I feel a headache coming on, so I better hit the sheets.

"I see", said the blind man

I'm trying an old fashioned hair curling technique. Have you heard of pin curls? If your answer was no, I'll explain.

Wash your hair, wait until it's about 80% dry (Or it will still be wet the next morning). Add mousse, gel or your favorite pomade cream. With a 1 inch section at a time, wrap the hair (starting with the end) around your finger until you reach your head. Pin it in place with two bobby pins making an "X". Spray finished curls with harspray and let dry.

It should look something relative to this pic below. You can even smile like her when your done for added effect!

Place a hair net over your head and go to sleep! Now what other hairstyle requires sleep as one of the steps? Could life get better? I submit that it cannot!

I"ll take out my curls in the morning and take pictures of real, non-enhanced results of the classic pin curl method. I hope it works, or else I'll be sporting a very bushy ponytail wilst grocery shopping tomorrow.

Michelle and lema came over the other day and brought Miles along for the ride (I say that like they were considerding leaving him home. Uh huh.). My dad was sick at the time Miles was born and ddn't get to hold him for fear of being contagious. So this was the first time he got to hold his first grandson! Miles was in a good mood and stared at my dad the whole time. It was a bonding momemt. 1,2,3 AaaaaWWWWWWWW!!!

That day Miles was wide awake without complaint. Perfect picture moment!

He loves to sleep all stretched out. So comfy!

Rachel took two art classes this year at Cyprus. Part of the year end requirements were to submit a couple pieces into the art show. Rachel didn't have enough pieces, so the night before, she stayed up until 3 am and made this polymer clay wizard. It not only got a red ribbon (excellence) but won 1 of 2 principals choice awards for the pottery category out of about 100 other pieces. She was beaming all night long!
Her slab pot won a blue ribbon (superior). She didn't mean for the glaze to drip, but it turned out cool anyway. Cool enough for a blue ribbon!
Like I said, she was beaming! lol. This is her stamp she carved herself. It's Cary Grant for all you non-old-movie-watching people
That same night was the Spring Choir Concert. Rachel was in the concert choir Remember doing this? The hot lights, binding dresses, Mishaps left and right? Ah, good times. They sounded good this year, especially the madrigals. They are going on tour as well and did their tour show towards the end of the concert. VERY well put together. They have good danceers this year.
Don't you love the penguin dresses? I liked our senoir ones best. The Blue ones that flattered everyone.

Oh, can't forget. Mothers day. It's a little late, but oh well. My mom got a new crockpot, a tall climbing vine plant and a bunch of other things I can't remember. I got her a church bag she had been eyeing at walmart, and her corsage for church on sunday. No one does these enough anymore. I think we all should. Flowers always make a girl (or mom) feel special.
My mom has done so much for me and my family it blows my mind. She's a convert to the church and knows so much about it that I can never catch up to her knowledge. She majored in English in college, and to this day, still reads the dictionary for fun. I am so glad have her for my example of what I want to be when I grow up. I got her great toned legs and thin ankles from the gene pool, her love of music, love of the scriptures and her green eyes.
She is the most charitable and patent person I know. I love her to pieces. Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Bleh....

Yucky fast food. I'm getting quite sick of it these days. I go places with my mom during the day and she likes stopping for a quick meal. Today we stopped at KFC, and then for dinner we all went as a family to Carl's Jr. I feel like Im on grease overload. Nasty

Pat me on the back and give me a gold sticker- I've been to choir all week (so far) and early every day!! Meaning waking up at 5:30, at SLCC by 6:50. Quite the feat to be proud of I'd say. Tough part is, I had all my parts memorized and ready to perform, when Bro. Allen asks us amazing low altos to make up for lack of tenors and sing tenor. Great. Learn new parts in 3 songs! And the hardest part is, we don't get our parts played out for us. We are expected to figure it out on our own while we sing it a'cappela as a group. fun eh? Thankfully I snuck by a tenor the last two times we sang those songs and I picked out the notes by listening to them. Helped a ton. But I'll be staying up late to work on those songs tonight just to make sure I've got it. I hate not knowing my part when everyone around me does. Got to be on top!!!

Ah, just remebered. The other day I uploaded a bunch (read millions) of new pics on my photo website (link to right). Most of then are additional wedding pictures of Michelle and Lema, but there are a couple of new albums of never before seen Hodgson footage. Take a peek! Some on my facebook albums too.

I got two videos of Ace doing his usual craziness today. I will see if I can upload it here, if it's too big I'll just stick it on the photo site. The first one, He sucks on my blanket like a pacifier. It's his way of going to sleep. Just like a baby. Cute, but nasty when I jump into bed and my blankets are soaking wet. The other one is of his howling. He hates the sound of our phone ringing so he howls to try and get rid of it. My phsyco dog.

Oh! guess what I found at the D.I. today? A 1/8th size violin in a case with a bow! I paid $10 for it. It needs a bridge and an A string, but other than that, perfect condition. I can't decide If I want to give it to Angela for her Baby (Inside joke between us forever), keep it for myself to add to my string instrument collection(making it a grand total of 3), or sell it ebay for $60+ dollars. Thoughts? I'm going to summerhays tomorrow to get the replacement parts. Then I'm going to play it!

Oooh, Oooh, guess what I got yesterday!!! My mom and I went to deseret book in the mall and guess what was in the clearnce section for $19.99? The complete Jane Austin Series in a hardback leather covered edition!! SWEETNESS!!!! GUys would not understand this purchase. Girls, are you jealous yet? The book is about 3 1/2 inches thick. I love it! AND, I had a giftscard for deseret book, plus deseret book rewards club points worth 4 bucks, so I ended up paying $6 for this book! Love it love it love it.

Must be off to bed now. Up at 5:30 again tomorrow and I would prefer to not be a singing/walking zombie all day. Tootles

It's still Christmas time for my family so we're still away consuming our bodyweight in chocolate (when I say we, I really mean, well, me).

Tonight we went to our (the Hodgson Side) family Christmas get-together. It was held at my uncles new mansion in Bountiful. And when I say mansion, I mean mansion. He lives on the highest point of any mountain in Bountiful and his house is at least four of mine combined, probably more. It was SO nice to have space to have our Christmas celebration. Getting to his house was another thing. Randy drove, and his tires are bald. Combine this with falling snow, wet roads, and a grade to steep you leanforward so the car doesn't start rolling down the hill, and you get terrified passengers becoming very prayerful.

The gifts were awesome this year!! My Grandma has been travelling the world this past year, and got our presents abroad. I got one of those wooden dolls that seperate and have 5 more dolls inside. From Russia! The real thing. Also a tote bad and pearl necklace from China. My mom got a real Jade bracelet from China. Gorgeous!! And as usual she shelled the cash for everyone. I have the most generous grandma ever.

My cousin Brady had my name this year and got me a $10 giftcard to Deseret Book. I love that place and could buy the whole store. All in all, a great second Christmas!!

Today I actually changed my myspace profile. i realized that my old one, you can't really read the font very well. So, you should go look at it. I added two blogs as well.

Well, the camera is still lost. I think I may actually have to clean my room to find it. It would happen sooner or later I guess.

Brother Allen (SLCC insitute choir director) called me up yesterday. I guess I'm starting choir again!! I"m excited, but dreading having to get up at 6am again. I truly believe my body was built to go to bed late and wake up late. It just functions better and I sleep better. Plus I need 9 hours of sleep. Or it could just be that depression has stuck around and is effecting my sleep habits. Is fatigue and lots of sleeping a sign? Who knows. I'm getting over it.

I've been obsessed with looking for homes for sale in Utah these days. I want to move out, but paying rent just seems like a waste of money because you're not investing as if it was a house you were paying for. Houses are expensive though. Some very small ones in Ogden for about 70k up to 100k. Hard to pay for a house/bills/car when you only make $12/hr. Where's my millionaire dream man when I need him? I guess it's all dreams as I don't even have a job yet. Oh well.

Not that I'm actually trying for a job at the moment anyway. I've started a work out program early in December and I've been dedicated all my energies and time to it. It's the fastest I've ever lost weight, and I don't want to do anything that will distract me from it. for now, that is. I'll be updating my tracker above quite soon. Watch out!!!!!!

Well, church tomorrow(who knows if I'll actually go) so I should get to bed. Does anyone else watch Greys, private practice and Chuck? when in the heck are they going to have new episodes?!?!?!?

Tootles ya'll

The death of blogworld

Wow. Everyone is killing off there blogs left and right. All I can say is, I hope everyone keeps reading mine! I plan on blogging forever. I wasn't ever good at keeping a journal, but this!! This has been my relief to life. Where I can write anything down I want and no one cares. I can piss-off about my problems, talk about the latest crush, whine about my weight and tell about when my dog throws up. I LOVE this blog and love writing in it. It is part of me and part of those who read it(if they still do!!) I will stay here in the land of blogging even if I'm by myself. Just me and my blog, I'm fine with that. I'll keep it going on for anyone to read whenever. It will always be here, never changing, (HA as I just changed my layout) and always here to comment on. I'll still have my sister post all my emails and letters here with pictures as well. so Keep me bookmarked!!!!!

Well, Here is what's been going on in my life this week.

Papers have been in SLC since last week. I could get my call on Wednesday!!!! I'm not getting my hopes up though. I'm expecting it next week.

Today I go to the Bank to sell my car to my brother. *sadness* I cleaned out my car last night and I wanted to cry. My first car, favorite car, my FREEDOM!! It's now going to belong to my stinky brother Randy who will speed like no other, kill the engine, scratch it to peices and make out with his girlfriends in it. Yuck. Well, another part of life moving on. I saw the 2007 passat parked next to me today. I LOVE IT!!!!! I doubt that's what I'll be getting when I get back though. I can dream :) I never even named it............sad.

Today was our April B-day party. We had 4 people in our group (including me) with a b-day this month. Seeing how I'm the Admin, I got to plan it with $80. We had Pizza Hut, Rootbeer floats, and Cake. YUM. Very good lunch if I say so myself. Well planne on my part. Plus getting paid to go shopping at Walmart is nice too :) I hope I go somewhere with a Walmart on my mission. I think I will go into withdrawl if they don't have one where I'm going.

Bffffff. I'm stuffed with cake and rootbeer and pizza.........bufffffff....

I had my last choir perf. last night for Institute Graduation. Kind of sad. I will miss it a lot. I got my copy of our Christmas CD from last semester. We sound good except for some stupid soprano(it'a always a soprano isn't it?) that sounded like she was whining the whole time. Other than her, we sound Pretty good. My director will finish this semesters CD by the fall, so I won't get to hear it till I get back. Darn. Maybe I'll see if I can post a song on here when I get home. Still working on getting the DSL hooked up though. I have to do all my internet stuff at work. Annoying. ONe of these days.....

I'm so behind on Grey's anatomy and Lost. Maybe I'll stay late tomorrow and watch them all after work. there's a thought.

Oh, I almost forgot, Whe I do get my call, I should find out in the morning and call everyone to come to my house that night if you can. We'll be having a ton of people over and Pizza while I open the call. I want everyone to guess!!!!!!

I went to a Bachelorette part on saturday. It was cute (and clean) and held at Applebees. We dressed the bride up in Boa's and a viel and tons of jewelry. all the gifts were cards and money, chocolate and lotion type of stuff. Then some guy that makes balloon animals and such came over. The bride requested a "pole" for her bedroom. she then texted her fiance that a hot guy gave her a pole for their honeymoon. It was hilarious. I even got a picture with her leg wrapped around it. It was fun. But NEVER order Applebees Zexty chicken sandwhich. It was nasty. It had this wierd pepper flavor and was just gross. Their Buffalo wings appetizer is delish though.

Have I rambled enough for you? My lunch is technically over, even though I was setting up the food for 20 minutes of it. Tonight after the handing over of my car, I am going to the gym. I am getting what I think is the beginning of stretch marks on my under arms(either that or a wierd looking rash) and vowed I would never get large enough to get stretch marks. that was my ultimate fatness limit. So, off to work out my arms!!!!!!

OH!!! almost forgot!!! Yesterday right before I leftm yhouse for the choir performance (which Tony sluffed) I was coming down the stairs and my heel (3" mind you) got stuck in a piece of our carpet that was ripped (Top step of course) I'm in my long dress too and Wa-BAMO!!!! I totally fell down the stairs. Not the falling where you skitter down on your feet as if they were ski's, but where I fell, my shins caught my fall on the bottom step (yes TOP to BOTTOM step) so I cut up my shins and have these massive bruises. swollen too. Then after my body realized it had more momentum to keep going, I face planted into the floor. It was acrobatic I tell you. After laying on the floor for 5 minutes in a sense of shock, crying because of the pain (I never cry, so it was quite embarrassing) my family is freaking out wondering if I split my head open and broken every bone in my body. It was traumatic I tell you, traumatic. I was then 10 minutes late for my performance (I am NEVER late for performances) so my entertainer brain kicked in and told me to buck up and start driving to SLCC so I would make of fool of myslef walking in late to the performance. Several people asked me if I got a sunburn, I told them yes, but it was from crying. (like I would admit to that) But other than a slight Gimpy walk, You can't even tell that I saw my life flash before my eyes yesterday and almost died.

I'd say that's a good way to end a blog for the day, wouldn't you?

Tootles,

Still gimpy, Bec
