Yesterday my childhood best friend Cami was married. I still remember the day the Leafty's moved in up the street and I went straight up after dinner to play with the "girl", as I called her. We'd spend the next 13 years as eachother's other half. We'd constantly et asked if we were sisters and twins. We were the same height, had the same dark, thick hair and were inseparable.
Being a bridesmaid and helping out with the wedding was so rewarding to be involved watching Cami take this giant step in her life. She looks so happy. Even though she'll now live in Clinton with her new husband and have a life not as much connected with mine, she'll always be my best friend from "up the street".
Rachel and I made the Groom's cake. John loves playing pool so Cami asked us to do something to do with that. After 2 days, our cake came out great and we were so proud to have it be included in an actual wedding! We got lots of compliments.
Steven was my lifesaver for this wedding. He chauffeured me around, did lots of waiting while I was helping with other things and getting beautified, came to the rehearsal and dinner, and was with me the entire day of the wedding. I don't think he complained once!
It was a long week, and I think this picture shows it well :)
If anyone really knows me, they I know I "highly dislike" having to be one of the single girls vying to catch the bouquet. Steven made me go stand in the group though. As in, he forcibly pushed me over to it. Yes I caught the bouquet (for the first time ever), and no I wasn't trying. Cami chucked it right at me after saying she was going for me. We'll see if anything becomes of it.
Congratulations to my old friend, I hope you have a wonderful happy marriage!

Shana and Joey Coles 8.6.2010
My two friends Joey and Shana who I grew up with in the same ward, were married this past week in the Salt Lake Temple. It's absolutely crazy seeing people you grew up with get married to each other, but awesome at the same time. They looked so happy and I'm so excited for them to start married life together. Here are some pictures of the reception!

24 is such a pointless age, wouldn't you say?
Alright, scratch the "daily post" idea. I pulled an all-nighter and did all the photos from my camera but the wedding ones. Next up, my 24th birthday!
If you look carefully at these pictures, you can see my highlights. Yup, one step closer in my goal to one day go completely blonde. Katy Leung did my hair at the hair academy she is attending and did a fabulous job at that! I love my hair and can't wait to go lighter once my roots grow in. I also gave myself more layers and a sweep to change things up a bit.

Oh, and there was cake to be had.

I told Miles that one of the bags that my gift came in, was a hat. So what do you do with a hat? put it on your head, naturally.

Michael is always imitating some weird character. He did several throughout the night, I can't remember which one this was.

Of course I had Steven with me. Isn't he handsome? :D In addition to the flowers and card Steven got me, he gave me Windows 7 as an early birthday gift. A LEGIT copy! No feds taking me to jail THIS year! (for an OS anyway......)

Um....I can't believe I'm posting this, but I thought I'd explain where I get the nickname "mantis". I'd say this picture explains:

Again, Michale doing another "character". Maybe he has multiple personalities and we just don't realize it?

Rachel wrapped all my gifts and had them all coordinate. They were gorgeous. Pink was the theme if you can't tell.

Ah, another picture needing explaining. NO, that's not a giant cigar that Randy is smoking, that is my new rolling pin that happens to look exactly LIKE a cigar. Rachel caught his expression perfectly, don't you think?

Don't worry, I didn't get a box of Chicken pot pies for my birthday, just the big container of oven roasted almonds. I actually asked for those. healthy snacking you know, you should try it sometime...

I thought this picture, despite being blurry, showed off my new cut & highlights.

Ok, enough pictures and talk about me. Once a year you get actual pictures of ME. So, until next year, these will have to last you :)
I had an absolutely GREAT birthday this year. I loved every minute of it. And surprisingly, I don't feel too old!
