I am thankful for fish!

Teaching the sunbeams (3 & 4 year-olds) in church has been quite a learning experience for me (and Steven for sure!). I love the cute things they say, the VERY random things they say and do (like chewing on a shoe for instance), and how innocent and teachable these children are.

A couple weeks ago our lesson was about fish. Being thankful for them, to be exact.

After a lesson on the creation of fish and the story of Jonah and the whale (I draw to get my point across and it helps keep their attention),

We took the kids fishing! Steven fashioned a pole out of a wooden dowel with yarn and a magnet, and the little paper fishies each had a paper clip attached. (Is he not incredibly handsome?)

The kids absolutely LOVED it! they each took a turn catching a fish and would then bring it to me to help them glue it to their fishing bowl.

Some didn't quite get the concept of saying behind the line, but it all worked out.

I love that my nephew is in my class and I get to see him each week :)

Little girls are so perfectly cute!

Yay for fish!

Here's what they looked like after our fishing trip:

Lazy Sunday

Nothing like a weekend of falling apart.

-Steven's glasses snapped in half at the bridge

-My temporary crown from Friday fell off last night at 2am

-An infection in my underarm has come back and the only way to get rid of it now is probably surgery.

-I had to cut off part of a beautiful ham to get it to fit in my crockpot.

Ok, that last one isn't too terrible, but I wanted it whole and pretty.

The next couple weeks are going to busy and not very fun. I need a little General Conference to boost me. Perfect timing!

I can't complain though(even though I just did), I have a home to live in, wonderful friends and family, jobs, food to eat, cars that work, the true gospel and a loving husband to trek through it all with.

That's all I suppose.

It's a camera dump post!

In October we headed to Red Robin for the Oktoberfest pretzel bun burger. So delish!

Steven's supervisor was impressed with something Steven did at work that day, so he got a star planted on his forehead. :)

Scary giant inflatable Santa at Lowes. I think it was 20 ft.

October birthdays in Steven's family. Steven's sister Jeanette made this cute barbie cake.

David's birthday too!

Steven send me pictures when he goes to Sam's club for groceries of what he wishes we could buy:

1 year at his job in October!!! Yay!

Steven's Niece and Nephew were in the Junior High's play of Bye Bye Birdie so we went to see it. Lots and LOTS of teenage girls screaming our ears off, but I was surprised how well the play was done!

I draw pictures while I teach primary because it seems to grab their attention a bit more.  HEre is the story of the first vision. Don't judge the artwork :)

Steven's pancaked reeses tree. I love how he sends me random pictures throughout the day :)

In January we celebrated Mom, Dad and Randy's birthdays. Geeky birthday hats included!

Lots of flame to be had!!!

Two weeks ago we went to little Macey's blessing. Such a cutie! Plus it was nice to have a week off from teaching primary.

Randy and Becky had everyone over for dinner last month and we played games afterwards. We played "Would you rather" and it had lots of interesting challenges. Steven had to drink out of a cup like a cat, Michelle had to do a belly dance, and Rachel had to hold a crazy face for 5 minutes. It was hilarious!

Steven grew up with a trampoline and absolutely loves them. We were at his sister's for dinner and he pulled out all the stops and did some flips for me

Steven's sister Janeen has a little girl, Ruby. She has a bouncer, but doesn't exactly bounce, it's more of a spazzing out, but is hilarious!

Lema's B-day

In November we all went to LEma and Michelle's house for Lema's birthday.

Daddykins and the ever popular pig nose for laughs :)
Rachel, the favorite aunt

Michelle made her delicious heath cake. It's SO good! I think I'll make it and bring it to the April birthday dinner at the Thacker's.
Lema LOVES Crush!

Again, my mom disguising presents because Lema always guesses what it is before he opens it.

Hodgson Halloween Party 2011

First off, Steven and I have perfected the Carl's Jr. breakfast burger. Takes a lot of prep and a lot of ingredients, and it's a heart attack on a plate, but we LOVE IT!!!! an y, onto Halloween.

I already posted these on facebook, but I'm trying to keep things on both.

Mom and the baby giraffe, Eli. Mom surprised everyone and actually wore a costume this year. It was great!

Michael was the Scarlett Pimpernel.

Lema.....can you guess? the hulk! I love the green skin!

Michelle was Flo from progressive. Such a cute idea for a costume!

Comfy comfy..

Carter was also a pirate

And dad....I guess a pirate. Really, just an ugly black wig with a giant spider nailed to his head. weird.

Miles was a transformer

Michelle made a super cute rocket pack from 2 liter bottles.

Randy of course as the phantom of the oprah

My mom used those heavy duty magnets and one of Rachel's earrings for her earring. (she doesn't have pierced ears)

We played the ever classic mummy game.

And the Hodgson classic Candy Bar Game

Becky the Devil (cute devil!)

I love how Dad and Eli are just chillin'! :)
